THE EFORT ANNUAL CONGRESS VIENNA 2023 SCIENTIFIC AWARDS
A congress is always as good as its presentations are. In this regard the EFORT congress can ever rely on the experts all over Europe and even worldwide.
The EFORT Congress Scientific Awards are selected among the many high-quality abstracts submitted to the congress. Following the completion of the abstract review process, authors with the highest scores will be informed by the EFORT Head Office about further needs to compete for the different EFORT Awards available.

FREE PAPER PRESENTATIONS
Abstracts submitted for oral presentation as Free Papers are expected to have very high scientific quality and should correspond to complete studies with outstanding results and innovative conclusions. Please refer to the “Free Papers”” section under the Presentation Guidelines page for details.
The best-rated Free Papers have received the opportunity to compete for the “EFORT Free Paper Award”. Complete applications with support material including an extended abstracts will be reviewed by the EFORT Award Committee in early spring 2023. The winners of the three best free papers in your category will receive a financial reward (gold: 1.500 EUR, silver 1.000 EUR, bronze 500 EUR).
All authors competing have received specific guidelines from the EFORT Head Office to submit their material by March 2023.
Presentations received after this deadline will not be taken into consideration for the competition.
The results will be communicated by mid April and awards will be handed over during a special ceremony organised during the second day of the congress.
Award winning abstracts will be highlighted in the online congress programme and names of authors will be listed on the EFORT portal and in the issue of the EFORT Today Newsletter following the congress.
BEST POSTERS PRESENTATIONS
Abstracts submitted as Posters can be based on preliminary results and correspond to short studies or trials. High scientific level is expected in any case.
Please refer to the “Posters” section under the Presentation Guidelines page for details.
The best-rated Posters have received the opportunity to compete for the “Jacques Duparc Poster Award”. Complete applications with support material including an extended abstracts will be reviewed by the EFORT Award Committee in early spring 2023. The winners of the ten best posters will receive a financial reward of EUR 500 to support further studies or research.
