Research Café - Strengthen the Research Culture and exchange with experts over round table discussions.

This new concept will offer selected participants an exchange with EFORT experts and industry representatives at the same time on the topic “Research”.

Three round tables – three predefined topics:

• Table 1 – Research question & Choice of outcome.
• Table 2 – Planning and coordination of the study & Reporting a trial.
• Table 3 – The research protocol & Ethical issues.

Part I: Delegates will rotate through each of the 3 tables, effectively allowing approximately 22 minutes of discussion at each one of the tables. This first part allows for confidential and intimate discussion.

Part II: In this second part and after each participant will have had the opportunity to discuss the 3 topics, table moderators will quickly collect thoughts & recommendations before engaging the discussion to an open audience.

Runs daily from 12:45 to 14:45. Table topics remain the same throughout the congress days. Table participants upon invitation only.

This is the opportunity to attend Quick Fire 20-minute industry presentations. While it is said that an elevator pitch should last no longer than 20 seconds, we purposely keep the approach but have allowed for 20 minute timeslots to make it more memorable.

These are a series of educational sessions which are not eligible for CME accreditation and are a smart alternative to the traditional industry symposia run in big session rooms.

Did you know spotlight session - Four topical sessions moving the O&T Community

There are several areas that will impact and enable the current and next generations to improve the overall quality of the profession in orthopaedics and traumatology.

Focus on patient-centered care, continued research and innovation coupled with interdisciplinary collaboration. Through a series of four sessions, we wanted to present and illustrate aspects around advances in technology, emphasis on education and training and public health and EU initiatives.

The topic on Digitalisation in Orthopaedics: Artificial Intelligence And Machine Learning in Clinical Orthopaedics And Research will offer an interactive session and tackle Machine Learning (ML) and AI to improve clinical research and practice in orthopaedics and traumatology by providing more accurate diagnoses, personalized treatment plans, and predictive analytics. As these technologies continue to evolve, they will likely play an increasingly important role in the field.

The Art Of Scientific Publishing: Open access publishing has many benefits, including increased visibility, wider dissemination of research findings, and faster and more efficient communication of scientific knowledge. EFORT Open Reviews EOR offers content on this basis. New Training Modules And Best Practice In The Delivery Of CME/CPD Lifelong Learning gives an overview on EFORT’s main educational offerings and will point out new avenues through master’s programmes or even further on how the EBOT exam is ambitioning to become a standard in an increasing numbers of countries whose national society is a member of EFORT.

EU Affairs: The European Union plays a significant role in shaping healthcare policy and funding research initiatives. EFORT through its affiliation and network like for example The Biomedical Alliance in Europe (BioMed Alliance) has a voice within a unique initiative of leading European medical societies that together include more than 400,000 researchers and health professionals. This session will review some of the successes which brought EFORT closer to shaping the future and legal framework of the surgeon’s work.
